What is a Chest Physician?
A Chest Physician specializes in diagnosing and treating diseases related to the lungs, airways, and respiratory system. They manage acute and chronic breathing problems and infections affecting the chest.
Common Conditions Managed by Chest Physicians:
1. Asthma
Chronic inflammation of airways causing wheezing, coughing, breathlessness.
Treatment: Inhalers (bronchodilators, steroids), lifestyle modifications, allergy management.
2. Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD)
Progressive lung disease causing airflow obstruction (emphysema, chronic bronchitis).
Treatment: Smoking cessation, inhalers, oxygen therapy, pulmonary rehab.
3. Pneumonia
Infection of the lungs causing cough, fever, difficulty breathing.
